ORLANDO, Fla.—Former Christian Brothers University cross country star
Stephen Hill (Collierville, Tenn., Houston HS) has been named the NCAA Division II South Region Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association.
Hill, a four-time first-team All-GSC and All-South Region runner, was one of just two cross-country runners to be named regional scholar-athlete of the year, joining Adams State's Aaron Braun.
Hill, who graduated with a 3.85 GPA in biochemical engineering, earlier won the GSC Commissioner's Trophy as the top male student-athlete in the GSC in 2008-09.
To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, student-athletes must carry a 3.25 GPA with outstanding athletic credentials and great accomplishments that can be attributed to excellent leadership.
