Red Wolves Rout Lady Bucs 95-49 in Exhibition Opener

Sheena DeBose scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds, but the Lady Bucs fell 95-49 in an exhibition game at Arkansas State Tuesday night.

JONESBORO, Ark.—Host Arkansas State started the game on a 31-5 run and never looked back en route to a 95-49 exhibition victory over the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs Tuesday night.

The Red Wolves held the Lady Bucs to just 30.7 percent (18-of-59) from the floor and forced 29 turnovers.  ASU shot 48.5 percent (40-of-82) and committed just 10 turnovers.  Despite sporting a roster of 11 guards and one forward, the Lady Bucs held their own on the boards, losing the rebound battle 48-40 to the much taller Red Wolves.

Sheena DeBose (Tunica, Miss./Rosa Fort HS) led the Lady Bucs with 12 points and nine rebounds, while Normanique Johnson (Olive Branch, Miss./Olive Branch HS) added 10.  Marissa Stewart (Atlanta, Ga./Arlington Christian HS) grabbed seven boards.

Sherina Scott led ASU with 18 points.  Meghan Lewis scored 15 points, and Ebonie Jefferson added 14.  Shania Hurst added eight assists and eight rebounds to her 12 points.

The Lady Bucs visit Ole Miss Thursday night at 7 p.m. in another exhibition game.
