BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Two more honors rolled in for the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs this week.
Christina Barone (Phoenix, Ariz., Cactus Shadows HS) has won her second straight Gulf South Conference Defender of the Week award. The Lady Bucs were ranked eighth in this week's NCAA Division II South Regional Rankings.
Barone turned in a clean sheet with eight saves in the Lady Bucs' win over West Georgia to clinch the No. 4 seed, and she made eight saves in a 2-1 loss to Alabama-Huntsville earlier in the week.
The Lady Bucs (9-5-2, 4-3 GSC) are the fourth seed in this weekend's Gulf South Conference Tournament, and they will face No. 1 West Florida at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow.
