BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Four Christian Brothers University student-athletes were voted Adacemic All-Gulf South Conference for the spring, and 31 were named to the GSC's Spring Academic Honor Roll announced by the league office.
Two softball players, senior catcher
Michelle Paul (Arlington, Texas/Mansfield Summit HS) and sophomore first baseman
Casey King (Flower Mound, Texas/Flower Mound HS), led the way for CBU on the All-Academic Team.
Sophomore golfer
Alan Killen (Lexington, Ala./Lexington HS) and senior tennis player
Antony Eddy (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) also earned a spot on the team.
The baseball team placed 15 players on the Academic Honor Roll. Seven softball players earned a spot, along with four men's tennis players, two women's tennis players, two men's golfers, and one women's golfer.
The Academic All-GSC Teams are selected in a joint vote of Sports Information Directors and Faculty Athletics Representatives. To be eligible, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.2 GPA, not a first-semester transfer, and be a key contributor to the team. SID's and FAR's are not allowed to vote for their own players.
The Academic Honor Roll lists all student-athletes who carried at least a 3.0 GPA and played at least once during the season.
