MEMPHIS—Christian Brothers University women’s basketball coach Scott Groninger has resigned to take the head coaching position at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Ga.
Groninger coached the Lady Bucs for six seasons, leading CBU to GSC Tournament appearances in two of the last three years. He was 78-85 at CBU, second place on CBU’s career win list behind Jennie Bradford (1976-84). Groninger led the 2007-08 Lady Bucs to a 19-10 record, and this year’s squad went 15-12 and finished fourth in the GSC West.
“We’re sorry to lose Scott,” Athletics Director Joe Nadicksbernd said. “He has the program pointed in the right direction. CBU wishes nothing but the best for Scott and his family.”
The search for a replacement will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Applicants may submit their resumes to Nadicksbernd by e-mail (jpnadick@cbu.edu), fax (901-321-3570), or mail (650 East Parkway South, Box T-1, Memphis, TN 38104).
